How do I place a hold on a book?

How do I place a hold on a book?

Answer:

To place a hold on a specific book, you will want to first start by searching the UO Libraries catalog: https://library.uoregon.edu/. You can search by title, keyword, author, and/or subject. The results of your search will initially include books, articles and journals, DVDs and other media, as well as digital and physical items. To limit and refine these results, you can use the facets on the left-hand side of the page.

To place a hold on a specific item, you will first want to click on the title from the results page. At this point you will need to log into your UO Libraries account with your DuckID and password (or user ID for registered guest borrowers). If the item is owned by the UO Libraries you will see a "Request UO Item" option. If the item is checked out or not owned by the UO Libraries, you will see a "Request from other libraries" option. Once you have placed a hold on the book, you will receive an email notification as soon as it is ready for you to pickup. If you are not finding the item you need after searching our catalog, please reach out to our Resource Sharing department for assistance with placing an Interlibrary Loan request: https://library.uoregon.edu/access-services/borrowing/interlibrary-loan-ill.
