How do I find Harvard Business Review Articles?

How do I find Harvard Business Review Articles?

Answer:

The Harvard Business Review and many other course readings are available for free electronically through the UO Libraries; however, due to restrictions from Harvard Business Press, accessing HBR articles requires a special process. For some articles, you may not be able to print or download them at all.

Follow these instructions to access HBR articles electronically using the UO Libraries' subscription to EBSCO Business Source Complete:

  1. Go to: Business Source Complete.
    •  If you are off campus, you may be required to log into the library's servers using your UO credentials.
  2. Beneath the search boxes, click on the "Publications" tab and search for "Harvard Business Review" in the box that appears
    • screen capture showing the location of the search box in business source complete
  3. Click the check box next to the publication title, then click the "Add to search" box on the right side of the screen.
    • The journal title will appear in the first search box at the top of the page.
  4. Paste the article title into the second search box and use the Fields drop-down on the right to select “TI Title.”
    • This should be all the information you need to locate the article, but if you’re still having difficulties, add Step 5 to the search.
  5. Enter the author’s last name in the next blank search field and use “Select a Field” to select “AU Author.”
  6. Click the “Search” button
    • Your article should be the first or second entry in the resulting list
    • Use the “PDF Full Text” option to save, read online, and/or (potentially) print.

NOTE: Harvard Business Review articles are different than Harvard Case Studies, so you may want to double-check what you're looking for.
